As one of the first flowers to bloom each year, Tulips symbolise growth and rebirth. They signified so much value at one point in history that they were traded more than gold.
I'm always caught by their bold colours and elegant figure. Petals a kind of waxy sensation between your fingers you have to pause and consider whether what's in your hands is real or fake. A deity; Something otherworldly.
The tulip have been used to express perfect love in Persian culture, eternal life in Turkey and to the Dutch a reminder of life's fragility. For me, Tulips are a reminder of home in Europe. A piece of my heart that I love to share with the ones I love.
