Down where the water flows, the day seems to loosen its grip. As the heavy load of nothing to do and nowhere to go is shared amongst each other, past and present fade away, mixing with the cocktail of conversation and laughter that floats along the breeze. 

Moments that were supposed to exist solely for the present become, in time, wonderful stories of the past. The classic ‘those were the days’ line everyone hates to hear come up. And I think it’s lucky they hate it, because even if I tried to gather up all the storytelling techniques I had, no amount of paint or dressed up words would be able to recreate the feeling that belongs to that time. But in both paint and dressed up words, I try. 

As my liquid has been turned to solid, memory called to a halt and frozen in time, my past becomes something to share; an invitation to meet us down by the river.
