Somewhere between dinner and daydreaming, we ended up in the river. It was here we bathed in an afternoon glow. As the sky winked its changing colours at us, plates passed between hands and water licked feet while our onlookers huffed and kicked behind us waiting for their portion to be served.
Down by the river the wind blows in unfelt gusts, catching laughter and song to remember for later. Somewhere between wild and wonderfully ordinary, the river is a place where I felt myself lose track of time and never wanted to go home.
