Life's juxtaposition. The rainbow in the rain. Calm amidst the storm. A feeling that, in the midst of so much social, political and environmental turmoil one can sit in their studio and make art, seems naive. Immature even. A unicorn, bare backed and ready to ride, facing the end of the world as we know it. A chasm of fire and flames. Tell me if you disagree.
While being an artist often feels like something The New York Times will hone in on at any moment with an oddly specific cartoon poking fun at the irony of it, it also feels like an opportunity to bring fun and play to the gloom and doom. A tactful move on my part. When nothing makes sense anymore, why try to make it?
