Sundays Look Like Cake For Breakfast

This piece is inspired by one of my dearest friends, Holly Sunday. We met seven years ago working in hospitality, and from the very beginning, Holly has been one of my greatest supporters on this wild art journey.

Back then, we'd head out on our early morning walks through Melbourne, coffees in hand. I'd talk about how broke I was, constantly juggling shifts and trying to squeeze in time to make art whenever I could — with no real idea of where it was all heading.

Through it all, Holly was there — always listening, helping me make a plan when I needed one, offering a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold, or a warm home-cooked meal. She's one of those rare people who shows up with her whole heart. 

Holly also shares my deep love of cooking and she's built such a meaningful career helping people heal their complex relationship with food. After an incredible shoot to mark the launch of her new business in this, it felt like the perfect moment to celebrate both Holly and the beauty of food in one painting.
